Would bonding the stem/bars save any more weight? That's a propperly nice bit of kit

Yeah bonding the stem would drop a bit of weight but my travel case require turning the bars. Otherwise i would need to completely remove the stem each time i travelled which is messy. Would love to get sub 5kg but its lookimg difficult without compromising function. Thinking berk integrated seatpost. And the only other thing would be a 2016 evo fork. But i think i would still be over.

Some updates I did on previous months:
2016 HM Fork, 3T Ergonova LTD dropbar, Extralite Hyperstem stealth, Carbonworks bottlecage, SR brakes, Raceware mount, SISL2 cranks with 52/36 spidering, Miche Supertype cassette.. the weight at the moment is around 5,5kg but on these next days I'm going to update it with a new lighter wheelset!

The garmin mount i have built take way too long for me to build to build them for profit. They are build purely to nerd out.

A few updates. New bar, 3T Ergonova team stealth. Swapped 6770 shifters for 9150 and removed old A-junction for the new bar end unit. Switched to Fizik Aliante 00. New weight is 6475g / 14.24lbs with Enve 6.7 clinchers, cages, pedals and Garmin mount. 14.4 with with light and computer.

Here's my version, I think I'm finally done upgrading... for a while at least.



2016 Evo Hi-Mod 56cm
Dura Ace 9150 with 11-30 cassette, (can't install the bar end junction with the enve bars so I have the normal 3 port box under the downtube behind the crank)
SISL2 Power2Max
Dt Swiss PR1400
IRC Formula Pro RBCC 28mm
Enve bars
Stealth stem from Fairwheel Bikes (can't recall the brand)
Cannondale SAVE seatpost
Specialized Power Pro saddle
Dura Ace pedals

Final weight without the garmin is 6.9kg/15.2lbs. I'm pretty happy with that as I can lose quite a bit more from the spare tire around my waist!

Yup. Waiting for stock of the new MCFK in a 320mm. That will save around 80g.

I was looking at Extralite hyper stem, but I'm about 86kg and one of the guys from Fairwheel said I might have issues with bar slippage. Any other bigger riders have this issue with this stem?

Also considering a shallower clincher like the Schmolke SL 45 or the new FSE Filament spun wheels which would save about 300g more.

Yeah the Carbonice post is 110g and the Extralite stem is 87g.

I will probably switch up the QRs (Enve - 50g) for either the Tune U20 or maybe even the ZFS ones. I have been looking at the Carbonworks cages and that would save about 50g but the Arundel ones don't miss a beat and I have had zero problems.

Not sure if I am ready to venture into tub territory just yet, maybe if I try my hand at some of the hill climbs at the end of the season.

It's got the standard SRAM brake cables fitted so could re-cable with something lighter.
