Thanks Everyone. I am not going to go crazy and tune these brakes down to 98 grams like I did on the Ghisallo. Wife gets the standard version with metal leaf springs.

Those brakes are definitely an acquired taste. I'd recommend Fibulas or ee unless the plan is to scare her away from cycling. Nothing quite like the feeling of rolling down a hill and accelerating while attempting to brake in the rain.

Also, I'd suggest clear coating the frame since nude ud carbon looks a little janky in person compared to pictures.

Got to disagree. Nude carbon looks great. A touch of aero 303 and it just gives it that little bit of something. what's that French word

I have the orion's on both my bikes and they are not the best brakes I agree but I do manage to stop , just I use powercordz but they def work better with normal cables, pull a lot sharper and respond quicker. I have tried all manner of ways with the powercordz but they just don't pull as good as normal cables. Anyone out there with orion's and powercordz gets them to stop on a sixpence please post. Advice would be most welcome.

You know you want to tune the pad holders ....it has to be done. and swap the adjusters for the lighter ones. The WW force is strong for this build

Love this build so far, not just the bike side but also the craic. I stripped approx 100g (nett) alone in paint from my old SuperSix. Took it down to bare carbon, put a satin coat on, but some areas are still a bit bare.

Agree with Xena, nude carbon looks great.

I really like what NiFTY did with his Evo. He used a matt clearcoat and it looked quite nice. He did leave some of the black on the head tube and seat tube while I plan to take it all off.

@RyanH - my wife and I need to have matching brakes. The only thing that will scare my wife from cyling is when I yell at her for being slow and wanting to stop and rest when I want to keep going. Hehe.

I'm shocked they would put filler there. Would it be just on the surface to stop flaking or just a uneven flaw that needs smoothing out i.e.
is it safe?
