New Ritchey Stem!
Moderator: robbosmans
2004 WCS Stem for 26.0 clamp weighs in at a scant 100g thank inpart to the new alloy (TRX78) making it one of the lightest stems! Unlike the F99 it can be used with most carbon bars due to the one piece 4 bolt clamp, vs the 2 piece 4 bolt clamp on the F99.

Does anyone know if this is available now? I work at a dealer so I'll have to check QBP but I dont recall it being in there. Or maybe I was fooled because the graphics are pretty similar to the old version. But 100 grams...thats attractive.
nice specs...but the colours
i think i´ll stick to my F99, it´s much poshier**

nothing.
In what way is it ugly? Name another stem that looks much better at 100g? F99 is just black, very plain, the ITM THE Stem isn't much better, gold, very gaudy looking, not to mention dangerous.
It's a stem, what more do you want? It looks fine.

how is the ITM dangerous.....I have used mine for 2 seasons with not one problem....if someone is smart enough to not over tighten the stem...all is well! I think it is a very pretty stem

I have to agree with SL on this one....a stem is stem when it comes to looks....not really pretty or ugly. What do you expect?
The WCS is black and silver with a little logo on it. Who cares? The F99 doesn't look much different in appearance.
Bottom line, if it's light and strong, who cares how it looks. If your that concerned about the little logo, paint over it.

that's why they make lots of different stems....to each is own. Why would you say it really doesn't matter what a stem looks like? would you say that about a frame or wheels. Looks matter also

what do you mean hide my name? didn't know it was hidden. What would I have to hide from. I posted my bike and all the pics like I said I would.

Yes I would say that about a frame or wheels also.
My priorities are as follows:
Cost (slim pocket book dictates that)
Function (has to be strong and worth while)
Weight (if you can get past the cost part, go for it)
Looks.
Looks is lowest on my list! If I can get the best part and it fits in my budget I really don't care what it looks like. I prefer to have someone say, "that was a great time you posted," verses having someone say, "nice try, but at least your bike is pretty."

Thats funny! Personaly I do try to blend looks and performance, performance first, but if it's butt ugly I don't think I would care.
