Hi everyone weigth weenies friends I have a question I'm going to change the fork on my xlm 97 frame from a amp xc 3 carbon to a new pace rc31 2004 (already order).Does this change modify the geometry on my bike?
And if yes (I suppose)how ?
I mean does the bike become unrideble?Or just little bit difference?
I presume to save about 400 grams and goes to 8420gr with mavic crossmax(for offroad)and 7996 with mavic517 hope/frm hub (for road use)
Thanks for any help/suggestion

If the lengths of the forks are different it will change the geometry.

shorter fork = less stability at speed

longer fork = slower steering response

A cool program you can play with is this Bike CAD which you can enter in your frames dimensions and see what happens. It won't really help that much but its fun to play with.

Hi Nikh,
Can you just confirm me that the software work for you ? I've tried to use it a few times, I downloaded the Java plug-in...Etc... but this doesn't want to work for me

Do you have any idea ???

Thanks a lot

I'll try :)

The program must be opened with Internet Explorer.

You click on the link to BikeCAD and then it will say:

"Do you want to trust the signed applet distributed by 'Brent Curry'?

Publisher authenticity verified by: "The Bicycle Forest"

You say 'Yes'

It will then launch into BikeCAD or should!

I hope this helps?
