bond....Cipollini Bond (re-mastered)
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
I finally got around to rebuilding the steed.
I acquired the bike with Dura Ace 7900, however wanted to grace this italian stallion with complimentary italian components.
I real happy with the build and the performance.
I decided to go with Athena EPS instead of Super record or record EPS as it is nearly 1/4-1/3 of the cost with only about 70-90g weight penalty for the electric components. Incredible value as the motors are the same, just less exotic materials.
Lighter cockpit maybe down the road, but at present, its sit just nice. This build isn't intended to be a weight weenie as I have 4 other road bikes less then 7kg.
The end result of the build is 7.4kg.

Looks much better with Campagnolo IMO.
You need to 'coordinate' the looks of your wheels somehow. The saddle still looks too chunky. And, please, do something with that bartape job.

Thanks kgt.
Yea, the wheels still likely be debadged and whenever the tubies wear out, I'll switch.
Saddle is chunky, but good on the arse.
Bartape will go once it wears out as well.

Echoing some comments:
Bartape needs to be redone... now! Looks like a poorly dressed hooker the way it is. I know I know... that has its merits, but not here. And it's rare that a color so bold matches very well with the frame, but in this case it looks like it does, so good for that. Black would always work too of course.
Wheels: Black decals on rear too, or none at all on both (probably none at all would be best).
Tires: Both black, tan sidewalls clash with this frame.
Saddle: If you like it, ok, but get an all black one.
Steertube: If that's where you like your bars, then lop off that extra centimeter of steertube. Personally (unless the top cap/steertube support is designed to sit flush on top), I like the steertube to extend about a millimeter above the top of the stem, providing full support for the entire stem stack height, with a 5mm spacer between the stem and the top cap to provide space for the compression bolt to work without bottoming out on either the steertube circumference or the internal steertube bung or whatever is in there. With the steertube being a millimeter above the top of the stem, it provides a ridge for the 5mm spacer to sit nicely atop and centered.
The future is bright... obviously

The fluro is perfect and I even like the tan walls. It goes together in my eyes... But as they said I would change to saddle to something all black and hide the shifter clamps with the bar tape.
long overdue update and post:
-black bar tape
-Zipp 145 sprint stem
-Enve 6.7 tubular Chris King/Powertap G3
-Record 4 arm crankset
The new setup maybe ~150 grams heavier they the Zipp 303 setup.

Zipp comes from Valentino Zippicelli so it matches Mario Cipollini.
I wish there was a way for me to debadge the stem, bit the logo is under the clear coat. I may have to just use tape and cover it.
