Its a very small effect on the Hopes, but the leverage ratio on some of them does get worse as you pull which is the opposite of the ideal.
May be a small arm pump effect, but that wasn't what was being claimed, it was power, and that I'm afraid (caveats listed aside) is a commonly held misconception that really should have been cleared up years ago.....still get the same on car and M/C brake hoses!
