Cannondale's lightweight challenge
Got a super-light road bike? Going to Sea Otter? Make sure you drop by Cannondale's booth where the company is running 'The Six13 Challenge' - a contest where riders can pit their bikes against the company's new Six13 rig. If your bike is lighter than Cannondale's production, Campagnolo Record-equipped Six13, you'll win a Saeco jersey. The first 613 participants whose bikes aren't lighter than the Six13 will get a Cannondale water bottle.

"Hard-core riders love to get the lightest frames possible and trick them out with the latest lightweight parts, but we'll go head-to-head with anyone willing to step up to the scale," says Cannondale communications director Tom Armstrong. :)

Cannondale claims the Six13 frame weighs 1,150g, which is respectably light, but not staggeringly so. We expect Cannondale will be giving away a few jerseys at Sea Otter, so if you turn up with a light rig and snag one let us know - and tell us the spec of your bike too.

The whole WW crew should go down there and dominate the place! I would love to see their look as an army of 100+ sub 6.8 kilo bikes stroll on in!HAHA It's MADNESS!

I´m getting out on a limb guessing 54.

So what´s so special about the six13 except for being dales first part carbon road bike (scalpel has had carbon parts for a while)?????
Lugged carbon frames.... Doh ok Look has been doing that for years....
Time has made the ultimate lugged carbon frame so far in my humble opinion. Dale has always made some really good alu frames I´ll give them that, now how to compete with all the carbon makers with years of experience.... good luck...

The prices except for the US market (which ofcourse is the biggest so who cares about the rest of us) are so silly they could be in a monty python skit.

But I wish them all the best, the more competiton the better.

I'd be interested in knowing how their new frame goes. I'd be waiting till they have a few years experience and a lighter frame before investing in a carbon Dale.

I'd luv to take my CR1 down, I don't have a weight for my frame yet.
