Nijs was fallen in a descent. Simon had a good start, I thought he had a puncture. He will tell his story by himself!

Early reports had Nys receiving medical attention. Was he seriously hurt?

I guess one upside of Nys not winning for cross fans, is the chance to see the gorgeous belgian champ jersey in races again.

He stays a half minute on the ground. He says he can'tmove his leg very good probably through the shock of the fall. He goes to the Hospital. More news I haven't.

I noticed all riders has a chip on their socks, probably for time measuring. Is this the first time in cyclo-cross this is used? I don't see any reason for this?

Or did they expect a bunch sprint in Zeddam? :D

chips are usual
even at our national championships ,you have to wear one
at a cyclocross ,i dont see the sence of it
in frankfurt we had to fix them on our bikes, but i changed it after 2 rounds....
at cross it is not possible to hide a round

the chips may also help with split times per lap, which when the riders go back to look at their races can provide a lot of important information as to where they made mistakes/rode well.
