Hi,

I'm thinking of building some new wheels.

Does anybody know the weight of a cosmic carbon rim??

they are sold seperatly.

Maybe with tune hubs and sapim cx-ray spokes they should be lighter as the whole mavic set up.

Anybody got a clue??

greetings marijn

I think that the Cosmic Carbon (which is really aluminum with a thin fairing) is the worst way to build such a wheel. There are lighter and better real carbon rims available, or complete wheels which may even be less expensive.

They're probably sold as spare part, but not for the retail market.
If you want to buy one, you usually have to send in the destroyed rim or at least supply the ID# of your wheelset to Mavic.

hej marijn,

where did you spot them?

if you like to search, the corima aero are complete carbon rims, they go for EUR 248,- (380gr.). directly from www.corima.fr

but there´s a difference-the cosmics are aero bomb-proof everyday wheelsets (as you can see many pros like bettini use), carbon wheels are more special (brake pads, stiffness f.ex.) for comp. use.

tobias.
nothing.

The Cosmics are a good general-purpose road wheel as they are. I admit, they are not that light, though. If you are looking to build a good general-purpose road wheel, I built a set using the Ambrosio X-Carbos with an FRM carbon front hub, a Record 10 rear hub and Sapim CX-Rays.
