Well done on your win!

I was close to winning my 2nd race of the year last weekend but got caught up in a crash on the penultimate lap and scraped home four 5th. Rain and cobbles are a bad combination!That gave me enough points to move up a licence category though so was well chuffed. That was my goal for this season so successful quite a few races remaining.

I must say that I think the bike has had a big impact on my results this year. I know they say it's not about the bike (in Lance's case it certainly wasn't!) but the AR1 has been a joy to race on this year and is definitely the fastest bike I've ridden to date. Currently is set up in TT mode for the Scottish National Team TT next weekend, with the seat post flipped it even handles like a TT bike!

The stem on that FRD looks like the Zipp Sl145 which is -12 degrees. Could you not try removing the 5mm spacer before trying a different stem?

How do I exactly "use" the website?

For vanity purposes I think I'll go with a 10 deg stem and maybe leave some space enough for a 10mm spacer (5+5) I just want my stem leveled with the bike. Either I:

1. proceed with a 10deg and leave a 5+5 stacked
or
2. go on with my 6deg and go with a spacer-stem-spacer set up

If you put the values in for 2 different stems in the boxes on the right, it will show you the comparable positions they'll give you in terms of bar position.

As an example, for 2 100mm stems, one -6 and one -17, you would need 45mm of spacers underneath the -17 as opposed to 5mm under the -6 to maintain the same bar position.

If you were to go to -10 it looks like you'd need 30mm spacers underneath the stem to maintain your current position using 5mm underneath.

Me thinks a 17deg is too much. I'd probably put the spacer and it won't make any sense.

if you are flexible, just do the -6 thing and no spacer. -6 looks fine with the majority of frame out there. -10 would look fine with the majority of frame out there.

Yes there's an option on that site to put the head tube angle in so that would need to be taken account of.

Here's my current set up. This is an OK set up for now. Sorry for the ginormous pictures.

This morning was my 2nd time riding the bike and I couldnt give an accurate assessment about my fit since I'm too sore from yesterday's ride.

As for flexibility I am good-excellent. I can palm the ground trying to "touch my toes" standing up





I'm using a 110 stem at the moment and the stock 3T Tornova bar (139 drop, 83 reach)

I talked to my dealer and found out the 2015 AR1 is currently available for preorder with a release date of September 20th. I also saw a small picture of it in the catalogue, it appeared to be black with a light grey logo. I like.

Any word on updates/pics?

It would actually be 19mm of spacers based on your link. I think you were running the numbers +6 (flipped up) to -17 (flipped down) which is a 23 degree change in stem angle.

I'm currently running a 6 deg and I'm still flexible enough to go lower (but nothing too extreme). My current setup only has a 5mm spacer and the little cone spacer. Would a 10deg stem "level" the stem with my saddle?

That is my buddy's old bike. I own that stem and it is for sale. 130mm -12deg Zipp SL Sprint. That frame is no longer whole.
