Works better and the ring stays in the exact same place as the xx1?

It's all on the website.

These chainrings save more than 150g over the regular spider and chainring combo. Reliable, extremely light, stiff and clean looking on the bike. Fear no more about loose chainring bolts or compatibility issues – go spiderless!

I'd like the real experience and photos, I read the website already.

@ tehan: is your e-mail address still "contact at absoluteblack.cc"? I have sent you two emails weeks apart without any response, hence my question.

Cheers!

stuka666: Not 100% sure on the weightsaving but around 45g. Same place on GXP cranks. My 34t is working perfect, absolutely love it.

Thanks for the answer, when the time comes for a new chain ring, will try one of these.

Anyone know where I can get a 34/36T 110BCD one from?

without having to spend a silly amount.

We know many of you have been waiting for that long time.
We will have soon Sram direct mount BB30 SHORT spindle version.

Our current offering has 6mm inward offset which fits nicely to GXP and long BB30 spindle cranks. But such ring could not clear chainstays for short spindled BB30.

So the new spiderless chainring is completely flat and will fit to Short BB30 cranks and Fatbike cranks.

How to distinguish short and long BB30? That is fairly easy.
Short BB30 spindle has 9mm spacer on the drive side. Where long version will have 15mm one.

Dropped my chain once last weekend, Absolute Black 34t chainring and XX1 drivetrain. Anyone know of a light but good chainguide for Shimano direct mount?

check your chain length first as this may be reason of that drop.
If you ride full sus then at full compression if you change gear quickly there is a chance to drop it. Also as countermeasure - if you ride a lot on smaller cogs on the back i would get bigger chainring, so you could ride more on the middle of the block on the rear. This will mean more chain wrap and greater tension on the rear mech cage. This is a very good workaround if you ride aggressively.

chain length is good, Trek Remedy fs. Maybe was something with the rear derailleur too, never happened before or after.

so maybe then a small stick or something else got under the chain as this happens sometimes. I would not worry so much about one drop.
