Where do you find all this bikes? They look like they're brand new.

This bike was used by a cycling team for their trainings. True, the frame looks quite good (there are a few scratches, that shows it was used a bit). Originally, the bike was fitted with a Shimano 8 speed group set (7402). I replaced that with a nearly unused Dura Ace 7703.

Its SO ugly, yet so amazing.

I love weird early '90s carbons and '80s funny bikes.

True, it looks funny, at the same time it's so typical for the 90s. Remember the Giant MCR or C4 Joker for example.

How it rides I can't really say, I just finished the setup. I hope I find time next week to take it for a longer trip.

I assume the OP is perhaps Czech, given the name the and the ".ch". If you live in euro mountains, a triple is perfectly legit on a recreational road bike.

psst, Otter. The OP is from Switzerland. Even the number plates on the cars say CH. He writes in German as that is one of the languages of the country.

Czech has a CZ domain and numberplate ID.

Yes, it's Switzerland, lot's of mountains where I live :-)

I had 4 different components ready for the Trek Y Foil:

- a used DA 7700 with a front derailleur Ultegra
- the DA 7703 complete, nearly new
- a used Mavic Mektronic
- a near new DA Anniversary

I think the triple is the best match for the Trek Y frame. I use the bike for recreational rides. True, the DA 7703 came out 2001 so it's not 100% right for the frame from 1998 but I think it is still ok this way. I hope to find time this week to try it for a short trip.
