Empty ;) I would have liked to do some more runs in the full aero kit to see whether bottle or sans bottle was more aero but didn't have the time.

Shot of me fromthe second round of Huttcross here in New Zealand. I'm on my spare bike as I rolled my front tire off the rim in practice. This is about 3 laps from the finish and I was pretty toasted by this stage. Couldn't clip in at the top of this shoulder section which sucked for the downhill afterwards.

Skeppsbron GP, a really short and dangerous track of 0.8km.
The fast and sharp corners made some riders go down hard.

I'm in white.

Sprint for 7th place this weekend. Me in the green/red, and took it.

Last weekend's hilly race. With all my 700 Watts :) sprinting for 2nd place in age-group, the 3rd just behind.

Race Report:

First race in like 6 weeks. My teammate went OTF the day before and rode solo to victory for 30 minutes. So i was like 'aite i'll do the same'... lol (aka didn't happen)

1. attacked 3 laps in, out of a 25 lap race.
- The lap i attacked (first lap i did), was 3 seconds off the pace of the P123 fastest group lap (final lap for them). So i think i have pace... i just gotta use it more smartly lol.
2. rode solo for about 10-11 laps (things went fuzzy at that point)
3. Got caught, half the pack dropped out of the race as they were chasing me
4. Got to the end of the race with the bunch, and didn't really attempt to sprint for 14th
5. tiring day.
6. Was radical for kids and families watching cheer me on though! it seemed exciting for them!

Are those 101s nathanong87 or 202s? I can't really tell. Was it a hilly circuit or a flat fast crit? WOuld have thought deeper wheels would have been the order of the day?

101s. I have deep wheels, but they are with my time trial bike getting the brakes adjusted at a shop. The circuits was 25% decent, 25% up hill, 50% flat. No amount of depth for wheels was going to change the result on the day though

thanks! it was radical for the spectators to cheer me on. That made the pain enjoyable for a few moments every lap!

great face : )

In my reading, bottles on the frame are very inefficient, even the shaped ones. Bottles horizontal between extensions is good and behind the rider is best (reduces drag, however they introduce difficulty in actually drinking from them).

This link: http://www.cervelo.com/en/engineering/a ... amics.html is great and quotes actual figures you could use to figure out the wattage impact.

There are more discussions floating around if you want to compare: https://www.google.com/search?q=aero+im ... e&ie=UTF-8
