Isn't the newer Cannondale expander pretty much the same weight as the exotic parts, and about 1/3 the cost?

15g for the Cannondale expander with integrated top cap.
The actual expander plug sits down at the bottom of the stem clamp area and is quite small compared to other expanders that are both longer and are more centered in the area clamped by the stem. It does have those fins under the top cap area that would prevent the steerer tube from collapsing completely but it is difficult to tell if they actually do anything useful. Some forks can be run saftely without any expander at all so it is hard to judge how important support from the expander is.

My first choice was the Cannondale expander.

But here in Portugal is quite difficult to get a good price.

So I took the opportunity.

I think mcfk cap is prettier anyway.

Greetings.

I have some news here...

I take off Doval chainrings and put Stronlight Bio Concept CT2 chainrings. They are lighter, smoother, faster than Doval.

And I think they are prettier...

I have some news about my project...

I decide to sell my Fizik Arione CX carbon and I took one Fizik Antares carbon rails.

I followed the advice from Fizik and according to information on the site, this is the saddle that fits me best.

After firsts rides I just love it. Very confortable.

I love how he looks to on the bike.

Meantime the axles arrived in IT.

Time to update a little here.

An opportunity arose to to change my wheelset.

I just love Vision TC24 wheelset but I have to keep it simple and I made a decision, back to clincher tyre.

I Could not decrease the quality of what I had and after read some opinions here, I choose Fulcrum Racing Zero Dark Label.

The selected tires were Continental GP4000s II 25mm to get some confort too.

In the assembly I had a problem with front derailleur clamp.

I have to take off BBB clamp:

And get a new one whithout side bolt:

I have some misgivings about the new clamp. looks fragile! Anyone have one of these?

I use the same typw on my Supersix, haven't had any troubles with it. It slipped once in the begining, but gave it some carbonpaste and now i don't notice it.

I need opinions...

I have in this moment Shimano Dura Ace 7900 groupset except cassette and crankset.

I'm thinking about made an upgrade to 11sp. Do you think Ultegra 11sp is better then DA 7900 10sp?

Thanks a lot.

New update here.

I took off my SRAM Force cassette and put a Shimano Dura Ace 7800 11-25T like new.

Sram Force 11-26T on my scale: 230g;

Shimano Dura Ace 7800 11-25T: 177g.

Another new feature is the replacement of chainrings.

I took off Stronlight Bio-Concept CT2 (nothing to point out because they work very good mas I just do not like aero look in my bike). Rotor q-rings were the choise.
