I admired Hanson in one of the final climbs where he tried to attack and cover every acceleration of the pure climbers.
It looked funny, a huge guy keeping up and attacking small little climbers on a mountain climb LOL.

I never took drugs to improve my performance at any time. I will be willing to stick my finger into a polygraph test if anyone with big media pull wants to take issue. If you buy a signed poster now it will not be tarnished later. --Graeme Obree

I donno if he has done any special/different training compared to previous years, but actually at Tour of Turkey he was almost there with the best on hills.
The Tour of Turkey field was not on the same level with the Giro field. He could keep up with Taaramae and Yates. But Quintana is another story...

OK not the worlds best at Turkey but still Yates and Taaramae are not exactly fat/slow... I agree very impressive climbing by Hansen there. Really appreciate well rounded bike riders like that.

I would really like to see Wiggo at the Tour but I have to say it looks very unlikely at the moment with basically all of the Tour team doing the Dauphine and Wiggo doing Swisse. I feel like he and Froome just can't stand each other and the dynamic is crap no matter what they say in the press.
How do the Brit cycling fans feel about this? Is there pressure on Brailsford to include Wiggo from sponsors etc?

They would be idiots to include Wiggins and Froome on the same Tour de France team.
But this won't matter because Contador will neutralize all
It will be a race for second place.
Froome knows this already.
I how but he does
Of course I'm just shoveling BS or am I?

I think Froome will give Contador a run for his money.
Contador seems to have lost the mojo he used to display.

Yes, and so is Froome.

Strangily enough Valverde is doing Route du Sud and avoiding the face-to-face with other main GC riders at Suisse or Dauphine.
I guess his team management want to keep his morale high before the TdF start just like Omega did recently with Cav.

Mojo = synonym for PEDs? Well, that plus father time - non-PEDs-aided aging can be a cruel mistress, although your mileage may vary.Ozrider wrote:Contador seems to have lost the mojo he used to display.

Assuming everyone makes it through the cobble stage in one piece (I expect Kwiatkowski to come out of that w/ the yellow on his back)....
Contador has been great this season, but all of his best results have come in races w/ short, steep climbs of which there are very few in the TdF. Also, his ITT has gotten slightly better this season, but it's still no where in the ballpark of Froome. Contador's best ITT his year was in the Basque Country and it was on a very hilly course, at T-A he gave up 40 seconds to the specialists in less than 10km. Final ITT at the tour is pretty flat and 54km. Froome put 2 min into him in 33km last year.....
edit- not to devolve here, but....everyone points at Froome's climbing as suspicious, it's not, it's his ITT-ing ability! When a big guy starts climbing too well (Lance) or when a skinny guy starts ITT-ing too well (the chicken, or 2009 bertie at Annecy), that's when things get fishy. Froome is all over the bike in comparison w/ Wiggins or Martin, yet he still TT's almost as fast...
edit 2- and oh, I'd love nothing more than for Wiggo to get to ride since it's starting in England....then on the cobble stage when the group splits and Wiggo is up front and doesn't wait...

Is Nibali also riding the Dauphine? Sorry I haven't seen a start list.
