Hello guys.

I need an help.

I am thinking about buy a Deda Superleggero seatpost. My frame is a 2010 Cannondale Supersix wich uses 31.6 diameter seatpost.

Currently brands are marketing the frames with 27.2 and I am thinking about buying to that extent.

I will have any problem using a reducer on carbon frame?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I used a plastic reducer on my carbon frame for many years without issue. Just make sure you use some carbon assembly paste

Thanks mitchgixer6.

A friend of mine tell me I have the risk of breaking the frame.

Is that true?

depends on the frame and the shim design, ask the manufacturer.

Generally a frame without a massively dropped top tube or an extended seat tube, using a long shim (10-12cm) will be fine.
As you move away from this it will *tend* to make a shim less suitable, as it adds an extra tolerance/more movement into the system.

I use a USE 27.2 mm spacer in one of my carbon frames for the last 7 years. It's not broken yet.

If the shim is as long as the frame manufacturer's recommended post insertion it'll be fine. If that's not known it should be well below where the top tube meets the seat tube.

Same here - I used this one with no issues for more than a year, also on a SuperSix. Just make sure you use carbon paste and you will be fine.

So because of some manufacturers marketinghype, you are going to buy parts that doesnt suit your frame? . . . .

BTW
In the wanted section you ask for: Deda superleggero stem 31.6
You forgot to mention the desired length.

(I have one , new in Original box 100 mm, but still haven't decide if Í keep it or not.
bought it for a frameset that I sold before it even was build) (not sure yet if it will fit my new build)

BRM,

But you have seatpost or stem?

I'm looking for seatpost.

A skinny seat pin may take out some road vibrations. A 31.6 probably won't. That's one of the issues with massively oversize frame tubes, you need massively oversize seatpins.
