Yep - first time.

Thought it was an amazing place, first visit to SE Asia not including work as well so a bit of an experience.

The organisation was perfect, hotels and food were good and the racing was a pretty high level. A few ex-pros dotted around the place and some good teams out of Singapore. Was pretty happy with my TT win :-)

Recommend giving it a go. At the time i was a bit pissed off given how i'd raced but looking back on it as a holiday with some racing thrown in, it was great. I'll be back.

No TT bikes, discs or pointy helmets. Think on a Giant Propel with 38cm bars, 80mm wheels and a specialized Evade i was at the limit of the rules.

Had a road race on the weekend, after a bit of an up and down few weeks with training I was stoked with the result coming 4th. :beerchug:

Late in the race (red /white jersey):

Flying mid sprint:

The gap between 2nd and 4th was 0.143 sec (1st was 2mins up the road).

I will post up a race report on my blog a bit later today for those interested :)

In third position on the first of many gravel sections (in front of the rider in yellow fluo). Race didn't end well, but it was still the most spectacular event this season.

There's always next year, djm.
The positive feedback we got after this first one has been borderline overwhelming.

A major TT I had been working towards. 8km of lumpy horribleness, cold and wet.

Got second. First was 19 secs faster, so well beaten, but still happy. Pic is about 200m from the finish hence the "pain face".

Well done Tapeworm. Hard to tell from the photo though. standard round bidon for an 8km TT?
