Hi all,
With the endless software packages that will work with Kickr, whos doing what, and what suits people best?
With winter beginning here in Australia, im keen to setup something up that has some visual interaction, to keep interest levels up. Also, keen on doing some structured intervals, so what do people use for those?

Any other training software, programs, principles etc that Kickr users are finding useful, or fun?

Discuss, outline, and post pics of your setups....

Cheers
Harry

Segments is the name of the app in the App Store .. It's not free though. It's buggy .. But when it works it's alright. Only good for segments which are mostly uphill because whoever you go against will whip you on the downhills.

I've heard the same ... Maybe this winter when the weather gets bad again.

Trainerroad + sufferfest + kickr.

Repeat. suffer. Get faster :)

I use trainerroad on my mac mini, and use airplay to use a 50" tv as the screen connected to my appletv. Could just as easily plug in an HDMI cable to the computer. Note that the difference between hdmi and dvi (digital out) on a computer is just an adapter that should cost less than 5 bucks.

I don't have a Kickr, but I 100% recommend TrainerRoad.

Training with (virtual) power has made a huge difference for me this year. Even in good weather, I enjoy hopping on the trainer once or twice a week to see if I can hit my power numbers.

So what gadgets do u need to get trainer road running with the kicker? Do u need their BT sensors? Or can u use ANT sensors and a USB ANT stick?

Cost of trainer road is $10/month?

Yes, $10/month or $99/year. I initially thought that I would stop my subscription during the summer months, but now I think I will end up using it year-round.

Ant+ for your other sensors to work. But if your computer has newer BT, it can work with the kickr withouth an ANT+ stick, though you'll only get speed / power from it

The Veloreality videos are affordable and are really good HD and will accept an ant+ stick input. The Stelvio is wicked for a long climbing sufferfest with unbelievable views, and the Flanders vid is a great hill interval workout. None of them really work for structured intervals, though, except maybe the flat road videos. For intervals I like the Ergvideos, but they're not directly interfaced with the Kicker, so you have to set the target wattage manually.

Recommend TrainerRoad too. It'll make boring trainer fun and time flies.
