The '97 catalog clearly discusses how Campy got 9 sprockets on the Exa-Drive freehub, as well as stating that the sprockets used the Exa-Drive system. I'm quoting the catalog rather than a sometimes faulty memory.

It refers to a "new 9-speed exa-drive freewheel"

One.

So let's just say I'm drivin' this buggy...

@ bikerjulio,
I´ll be a nice guy and try it again.

1. your English probably is much better than mine, so interprete yourself the meaning of "BRAND-NEW 9-SPEED CASSETTE FREEHUB, based on the proven EXA-DRIVE system" (see your upper screen shot)

2. this probably will not convert you from 'doubting Thomas' back to bikerjulio. So watch the pages 57, 58, 62, 63 of the Campagnolo sparepart catalog from 1997.

If this will not help to convert you I don´t know what else could convince you.

But anyway I wish you a nice sunday afternoon.

I can tell when someone doesn't want to admit defeat :D But go on. You can do it! admit you are wrong. In fact your reference to the '97 spares shows you are wrong!

So here is what I said

Since we are being picky, the current Campy splining pattern was introduced with the Record freehub in the 1998 model year. The following year the new "oversize" hub design was introduced, which has also carried forward to today.

and you said

If we want to be picky, please with correct information:

Campy 9 speed started in autumn 1996 with a modified version of the the light body for the 8 speed full titanium cassette and since that moment the Campy splinig hasn´t changed anymore.

WRONG. The pattern referred to in 1997 is NOT the current one. Perhaps a picture will help

The '97 freehub (as shown in the '97 spares):

The '98 to today freehub. Try looking at the '98 spares p61 on.

Spot the difference?

ok, you are right. At least now I am understanding what you are talking about.

But what is the difference for the initial question which hub from Campagnolo can carry 11-speed? No difference! Any 9-, 10- or 11-speed hub can work 11-speed without modification. That was the only thing of importance we are discussing since about a week.

I have to say thanks to you, bikerjulio. Our in my opinion use- and senseless discussion will prevent me from spending much time here.

In this month Tour Magazin there's a test about the Token Cromo Cassette, which is a 11 speed cassette that fits onto a 10 speed shimano freehub.

Tour Magazin has found the cassette to work great. Only minus point was its noise (like the first gen sram red cassettes).
