...I figured it's time to go all in on the crit machine, as a slack TT/Tri frameset makes a great steep Road/Criterium frameset.

Some build progress pics, first off a DIY stainless steel chainstay guard against dropped chains... more to follow here

Secondly, a custom one-piece bar/stem combo by Mattias at Experimental Prototype here in Sweden. Some seriously fantastic work, with an integrated computer mount built in under the handlebar. A custom titanium Garmin Edge mount is coming up here shortly.

The whole thing is pretty much bolt tuned, even Ti-bolt for the under-BB cable guide...

...previous setup with Kinesis RaceLight T2 alloy frameset, it had a 75º/73º geo (with a normal road fork) while the PX Stealth spots a 76º/72,5º geo, so this actually works out better than one might think, saddle moved 11mm further back on rails to compensate STA.

Awesome bike, that looks like it must be a hoot to ride! I have something similar as my crit / circuit race bike. Also I feel you on using a much shorter fork than the frame is designed for. Makes that handling extra sharp - really suits me too.

Absolutely a total hoot to ride. I mostly use it for 70-100km solo rides on rolling terrain with lots of sign post sprints, spontaneous dog fight chases with other riders and ofcourse the occssional instigating of breakouts on group rides.

Very much juvenile boy-racer that excels at putting a big grin on my face ;)

Doesn't twice the weight of your bike equal twice as fast as your bike too? Physics obviously was never my major, but hopefully we'll get a friendly chance to find out come spring :)

It might be a nice bike, but isn't the frame misnamed?

Shouldn't it be RaceHeavy?

I should have bought mine in black as well, instead of this light blue/white one, my wife calls as "KLM"

Haha, I wouldn't mind having someone thinking of jet airplanes when they see my bike ;)

Always dreamed of an airforce jet fighter coloured all grey TT bike.

Well well, update with new frameset in the 'near complete build up phase', this will be the sprinters/break-away specialists choice at some 8.5kg. More speed weenie than weight weenie. I will use this as my primary road bike, as the TT geo actually fits me much better than standard 73º/73º road geo.

I think you should set it up as close to 6.8kg as possible and still make it is speed weenie bike as well. I think you could have a great bike here.

I have experimented with more light weight stuff, like Tune Wasserträger Skylines, cheap Ti-skewers, New Ultimate stem, KCNC brakes, and so forth... I have a pair of -450g lighter 38mm wheels too, for windy days I keep telling myself but the 82's are too much fun even in the wind...

I seem to always rotate back towards the sturdier gear. So right now I'm really fine with the weight/function-ratio. There will be a disc wheel and a PM too at some point down the line...

UPDATE 2014-04-29.

BUILD COMPLETE! Check out the custom bar/stem combo... Not a very light bike I'll admit, but she certainly holds her slippery self when the going gets fast and is a screaming hoot to ride.

Very nice ven if I'd rather ride the alu Kinesis.

How does the new frame perform in corners and accelerations/sprints?
