How did you find the road? I've driven it a few times but it doesn't strike me as being particularly friendly to cyclists.
We rode single file for nearly all the ride. A few cars and motorbikes on the main Yarra Junction - Noojee rd but not one close pass or abuse so I thought it fine. Road surface was reasonable too... The VRS Warburton road race* is out there Sunday week so best to avoid the area on the 4th May unless you choose to race.
*I was the race director till I rode over the cyclist who went down in front on me whilst going 55km/hr at DISC last week... So getting my broken collarbone plated next Wednesday instead.
Short road loop on the gravel wheels:
@Eurperg... Were you running 25's on those gravel roads. Anything get caught in between your tire and fork?

@Calnago, There are some scratches on the underside of the fork, but I think they all existed before my ride.
I rode about 45km gravel, most of it was rougher than what you can see from the pics. (damn road graders) 5/6 bar pressure in 25mm Arenbergs, not a single cut in them. There's 2,5-3mm clearance between the fork and tire. Pic of fork underside here

Short CX ride today. It was really interesting, because we where testing 36c Kojack's and 46c Specialized Amadilo tyres. Those 46c are so much fun on a stiff alu frame with a carbon fork and 2.5 bar. I'll go for 3bar on wednesday. They are very grippy, but a bit heavy. But so far. I really love them.

That second picture is strangely mesmerizing. I kinda sorta want to have a large version of that, but I can't explain why exactly.

Headed out on the Yarra Junction - Noojee road today. This road is part of the course that the Victorian Road Series event which I am the race director travels.
Road near Piedmont
Nice pics Dalai; I've been meaning to get over that side of town for a ride for a while but only ever make it as far as Mount Macedon (i'm in Geelong).
These are the roads the Warbie Road Race is ran on I presume? I was hoping to race but scared of making that leap to VRS (I'm pack fodder club B on road).
