"The design is not available to us plebs," :(

I'd like to get my hands on one too.

The Shift Up ones are getting in the right direction, only €59.

I tried a Tune for a while but it kept loosening during long rides. I love the anodized colors but I think I wont be using one of these anytime soon.

Looking for an allen key hex type skewer to save at least 30+ grams on a stock factory Fox Fork... what's the best value out there? Cleanest look, best material, and durability if possible...

Really happy with the ShiftUp one I bought. Still overpriced for what it is but one of the cheaper options and super secure- can't ask for more...

I use the tune one. I haven't had it loosen yet. However it's two piece. Tune threads a secondary piece to one end. That end loosened for me a couple of times till I used some loctite primer and loctite 222 to hold it.

The one thing I don't like about the Tune is the indexing you can do with it. Fox already has the nut that is indexable. So if you want a quick wheel change, you end up screwing up the indexing because you accidentally press in the spring for the tune axle, and you are left fidgeting the axle back in while your hands are shaking and sweat dripping down your face.

And Rock Shox announced theirs yesterday.... "Maxle Stealth"... 39 USD.

And Novyparts (in France) has more affordable 142 axle options (than Extralite and FRM)... 59 EUR.
