I had riden once a set of 4 spokes and they were really stiff.
don't that stiffness tend to negate the C50 ride qualities ?

Not at all in my experience. These Nimble Crosswinds shod with 24mm Vittoria pave singles are easily the best wheelset I've ridden for medium and high frequency road vibration absorbtion - I'm keeping these forever! I have a pair of Record hubbed 36h wheels with FMB PR 25mm singles fitted and on the C50 these are a genuine armchair ride but lack the front end feedback and the degree of steering response that I prefer.
I have a mis-matched pair of Xentis Mark I and Mark II on my Bottecchia SP9 fitted with a pair of current model Vittoria CX singles, these are stiffer than the Nimble wheels but even on a narrower tyre and at higher pressure, I find the four spoke ride still up to my comfort seeker standards.......
My ex c40 destroyed from a bad bicycle mechanic! I was refound for the damage!

he wanted to unscrew the octalink bottom bracket, but he had crack the frame!
The BB of colnago it's 70mm and he turn clockwise
..for unscrew!

I feel your pain. I have a 55cm C40 in the same colours built almost exactly like that in my cellar, albeit with 10 speed Record, CK headset and Campag wheels. Thought about selling but never quite managed it...
@irongatsby - Lovely bike. Great mix of components. Nothing I would change apart from maybe the headset cone and spacers. And super photos with nice bokeh as well. Do you drive a Lamborghini and date a supermodel as well?

Holy Crap! I have NEVER seen that before... what was he doing... using a long lever and jumping on it the wrong direction. That's nuts. Perhaps the whole bottom bracket was seized to the threads as well, which can happen when people screw the bottom brackets in with no grease or anitseize (I've saved one frame that was like that before). But yours... such a pretty C40, to have that happen to it... I would have been livid.

The fact happened last summer, i was very very angry for this..after long story the shop refound me and i bought a scott cr1, but in the future i want another colnago..there was fantastic!
When i will find a master frame on a decent price it will be mine!

@adry85- uh.....that looks like the drive side? Even if he thought it was English threaded, don't you turn counter-clockwise to loosen it?
Anyway, I'm very sorry to see this... What a beautiful bike and not often that a colorful bar tape looks so right... really upsetting indeed...
