Took it out on a 4h ride with some climbs at 27C sunshine.
Wow. This is a great experience. Really NO difference to my Giro Ionos and what a silent ride.
This helmet is a winner.
I have found also some small white plastic caps in the electrical shop which fit nicely into the magnetic spots so I do not need to buy a non-shield version additionally .
The visor fit is exceptional good. So many place behind it that it never gets steamed up. You could even wear some Oakley Jawbone under that shield and they do not touch the visor. Just to explain how many space there is.
No weight photo taken but it is 362gr with the visor for a size M.

wore mine with visor this morning 22C and humid.

honestly not really impressed. I have race tomorrow in hotter temps and wanted to see how this would do....

the visor not keep my eyes from watering on fast descents, and i noticed alot more sweat on my face and forehead than when i wear my s-works. Maybe im just knocking on this thing cuz it's silly looking. Well.... maybe i caught a glimpse of myself in a car door reflection with visor and it looked ok when in drops, but im sure driver thought i was some idiot riding his bike on the way to a stars wars movie premiere.

needless to say... i did not feel faster.

@fletch62:Looking back how the aero non TT helmets came into the peleton and Giro introducing the Air Attack I was confident that others will follow.

Cyclists randomly are a conservative community. Today's "normal" helmets were harsh criticized due their design way back in the eighties.
This aero design will grow on the community .
Not measured the speed I have gained with this helmet but the most significant aspect is the noise reduction around your head (ears).
I am riding sometimes also with the visor on my road bicycle. Don't care what other people / cyclist think or say about it.
Congrats to Giro by a fully satisfied customer.

got my giro air attack - was expecting to come with extra padding instead of getting a sticker.

Why would you need extra padding?

I didn't comb thru the entire thread but I wanted to comment on my experience since becoming a fairly early adopter, at least here in Bend Oregon where no shops had it and Ryan (Trebon) is the only other resident I have seen with one.

Got mine mid May and put it to use at our annual Pole Peddle Paddle where I did the first 3 stages. Alpine Ski, Skate Ski and Bike. Start was cold and it was pretty comfortable and the comfort stayed all the way through even where my body temp raised up on the nasty climbs up to the skate ski finish. On the bike it was great as well. I put in a very good time considering I was not 100% from a bug the week before. In short it did excellent in varied temps. Granted I wouldn't use it for a super hot day but it's not terrible either.

Fast Forward to last week. Me and about 12 other people did a ride around Crater Lake. Every time a descent came around I'd just coast away. It was really weird because I am not exactly the biggest guy. We had one of the top TT guys in town along with his slick Giant Propel. I originally bought the the helmet for combo use, colder weather riding and flat races and long TTs (Short ones I have a Spiuk Kronos for) Now I am wondering if it's not too hot dealing with the climbs on it might be worth the gain on the descents.

I am somewhat of a skeptic on issues like this but last week really made me a believer. I wonder if there is any mountain descent data on this thing. I would love to see a comparison.

In short it's just a great all around lid. I'll probably use it for alpine skiing this winter if it's not overly cold. Yes it's not pretty but the titanium is pretty stealth lol.

Suppose he means a second set of padding which can be changed when first padding gets sweaty and worn.
Like Giro has them for their other top products.

Not sure if the air intakes are for a clear visor or free the way for the air intake in front of the helmet as shown in the original Giro video on their website.
Let's wait and see which visor design the end product has.

I have also noticed that the Shield comes with or without vents in visor. Is the vented version a newer model?

I just got mine straight from Giro about 3 weeks ago and it has the vented shield, so I would guess it is for the newer helmets. And it must work since I won my first p/1/2 race of the season in my first race with it (even with a massive beard which probably completely negates the aero lid, but training resistance, right?) :beerchug:

@SB817: Noticed more and more pro cyclists with beard.
So your beard hairs may work as fins and support aerodynamically the lower part of your head whereas the AA does the rest :noidea: :beerchug:
BTW , my AA has vents in the shield, too.

The original visor didn't stay stuck -- magnets were too weak. Plus it fogged. So Giro changed out the visor and improved it a bit at the same time. I have the new one but everyone I know who had the old one was able to have Giro swap it out for the new one.
