Next to my full weightweenie Cervélo R5 VWD at 5.1kg I rode a Scott Foil. Atlhough the bike fits and rode perfectly it was a bit to harsh for me. The fact that I ride size 51cm doesn't help with providing much comfort with the Scott Foil.

At the moment Cervélo released the 2014 S3 I was convinced by this bike, however the paintjob mainly the colour didn't do it for me. So I ordered the frameset and instantly planned on painting the frameset custom.

reminds me of that black Venge paint job with white decals. Did you draw inspiration from that?

More about the paint job? Did you just strip and coat?

Looks much better in that guise, well done!

As for the paintjob, I was inspired by Cervélo's Project California, however I found out the Black-Black theme was to 'dark' for me, so I went with the Black-White design. I agree the Black Venge is quite the same in that point of view.
I didn't paint the bike myself, I have a car-/bikerepair shop just 20km away from me. They do a lot of repairs for Giant and the former Rabobank / Belkin pro cycling team. The sanded the entire frame, painted it black, replaced the decals and uci stickers and applied a matt finishing clearcoat.

I'm sorry but I will be one who goes against the grain...boring! Another black and white bike! I think the original red and black gloss paint scheme from Cervelo is actually pretty good. I like colors...what can I say!

Haven't been a huge fan of the stock Cervelo S-series color schemes. Love the black and white custom paint.

You need some 404s or even better 808 for that frame. After all it is an aero bike.
