I picked up this tape on a whim and they ended up being really freakin' light. 38g for the full length and the backing still attached. I'm guessing the tape will weigh closer to 30g after applied and cut.

They're made of foam and feel comfy and durable. Will have to see how they hold up, but I wanted to get the word out.

Looking good.
Can you give some more information about use? Do they comfy without gloves. Slippery when wet? Durable? Too thin or just good?

I will give some feedback once I finish my build, but they don't feel any thinner than the Lizard Skins 1.8 DSP.

That's about the same weight as Deda's perforated EVA tapes, which weigh 37g on my scale (uncut length is 184cm per roll).

I also bought Deda's alloy color tapes, they're also very light(42.5g) and should look good on my matte black bike, but the tapes are less elastic than other Deda EVA tapes so I still keep them as spare.

Interesting. Are you referring to the Deda Traforato Tape?

Bike Ribbon, or Stella Azurra, have various tapes that are very good for the price. We carry most of them and they have one in Digital Grey (looks similar to the matte on most newer bikes, that is also very light.

Traforato it is. According to the infamous "Deda scale", they should be 29g, my overweight Traforato tapes must have soaked too much moisture!

For reference, my regular Deda tapes without holes weigh in at 53.5g including those 2 short pieces of tapes.

Thanks, drainyoo. I've ordered a set for under $12 from Amazon. It's going on my buildup you helped me with. I'll come back to this thread with a review, once it's all together.

More info:

I used only a single piece of the tape, and did both sides of my bars. 19 grams including electric tape. A nicer job could be done the traditional way, with more tape overlapped, and wrapping continuing closer to the stem. But I went for the lightweight setup.

Two end-plugs are included (4 grams).

23 grams total for bar-tape & plugs

I haven't installed mine yet, but did the tape feel like it was going to break if stretched too much?

No, it stretched great. One of the best I've ever used in that respect.

I'm ordering more, in case they stop making it.

What about comfort? Absorbing vibrations?

Since it is a really light one, I assume that it is really thin and no vibration damping at all. But who knows :)

Funny. The last time I used bike ribbon was 1989!
