Ok, I swore I wouldn't try Bont again but won a pair of Bont Vaypor's brand new size 42.5 on eBay so had to do it! Still the best power transfer I have EVER felt and I'm thinking maybe in the past I was just sizing them wrong, I always assumed I was a 42 like every other brand *bar Sidi where I'm a 42.5*. Even measuring to Bont's chart got me a 42 but I have long toes so that might have been why the 42 always felt so cramped....

Anyhow for the price I'm giving them 1 last go around :D

^ Some people love the bath tub feel of the Bont sole and some hate it. I love it. Not for 100 km rides mind you, but I'm a fan!

+3 years with my Vaypors and they still look and feel awesome.
I wear them exclusively - short and long rides plus on the trainer.
Molded them a few times initially and again in yr2 with nothing since.

I get they're not for everyone, but what in life is?! We're all different especially some of your weird, ugly and mis-shapened feet - just kidding, sort of. Lol. I just hate for someone to pass up trying a pair of Bonts because of some posts here. Try 'em!

I'm enviously eyeing the new dimpled and velcro'd Vaypor Zero Plus, but can't see the point 'til my current pair at least begin to fall apart. (The new Vaypor with atop dials is horrendous IMHO.)

Someone can tell how narrow are the bont narrow.... if you compare with regular sidi for exemple?

Bonts aren't that narrow at the front, however they taper which may not suit everyone.
Compared to Sidi they are positively heaven to my toes!

Ok. If the standard sidi width is fine for me (limit) do you think the narrow bont should be fine?

I would say so, but it may pay to check Bonts measuring chart to make sure

You won't need a protector but you will need to shim the cleat to get the necessary curvature. Bonts have a flattish sole compared to Sidi for instance.

thanks jensw & twiggyTN :)

i was thinking since its a carbon sole, would it need something in between the cleat?

I stuck a piece of foam bar tape across my sole at the center of the cleat to get the requisite camber in the sole. Before I did that the cleat had vertical slop in the pedal.

meaning to say that little foam tape in the middle is like foamy insert to prevent the cleat from aggressivly moving around , or just some cushion for some slop?

Received my A1 replacement pair yesterday.
Very excited. I miss the feel of instant transmission of power.
It seems Bont has made the switch to Boa dials.
I use them on Louis Garneau shoes I got in the interim and they are reliable but I was hoping to try the Atop loosening system.
They do fit great out of the box!
