Stem arrived. This thing is a work of art, and the weight is amazing.

The Saevid saddle is taking forever to arrive from Spain. Hopefully soon.

I'm thinking of getting the Caimillo GSL brakes to replace the Planet X. Might scoop those up soon.

If this is going EASY on your bank account OR what you consider buying a little at a time, then I need to step my game up!!!!

Hahah. I was comparing myself to those folks who buy all the components at once.

I've wanted one for a while, and finally pulled the trigger. It's really nice. Can't believe how light it is.

The postman surprised me this morning with the Saevid saddle. Beautiful craftsmanship, and the weight is dead on. Looking forward to riding it.

Here's a teaser. I mocked up the bike with the parts I have so far. Even weighed it, came in at 3.89kg.

This is my first road bike. I currently ride a track/singlespeed.

I shortened the ends of the Zipp bars and took off 5g. Going to chop the seatpost next.

More goodies arrived. I exchanged the Mavic Zxellium SLR pedals for the SLR Ti version, which are much lighter.

I also found a bar tape that's lighter than the Lizard Skins. The Bike Ribbon Eolo Techno come in at 38g for the full length. Should be closer to 30g when applied. They're a really soft foam and feel comfy.

I also ordered some Smud parts that will arrive soon. Got a carbon cradle for the seatpost, their Ultralight cage, and the carbon seatpost clamp. Should have those in a couple of weeks.

How durable does that bartape feel?

I pulled on them a little and it doesn't seem like they can easily rip. I'll have to see when I tape the bars.
