Cofidis got new bikes for this season, with integrated brakes. But these brakes are so rubbish, that they are using old bikes with normal brakes.

They don't have to hide it, they buy their own computers.

This makes me very happy.

Interesting discussion from Michael Hutchinson on twitter about which record Cancellara will be aiming for.
Seems to think it likely to be a pursuit-legal bike which would mean all records post-Ole Ritter's 48.65km are non-legal...

I don't think that's what he's saying.

If the record is "current pursuit-legal", then Hutch says "The last Hour set on a bike that fits current pursuit rules may be @Chris_Boardman's 52.370". Then he points out Merckx's record bike was probably underweight for the current pursuit rules.

If Cancellara does a "pursuit-legal" record, that's pretty much a new thing. He'd be on an aero-track bike, with aerobars like pursuit riders ride, eg:

There is no chance that Merckx's bike is legal for any modern competition. Apart from the fact that it's underweight, I don't think the UCI would be happy about this sort of thing: Image

Awesome idea about the holes in the fork. I am getting my drill out and doing that to the fork, frame, and water bottles to save me some weight after the breakfast I just had!!

Maybe this was discussed previously, but what shoes is Contador using this season? I am sure they are specialized of some sort, but don't recognize if it is a new model or what based on the color.
