2014 Specialized S-Works Epic World Cup Medium White out of the box weight without pedals: 9557.19 grams
I plan to put this beast on a diet.
Let me know if you know some good option with good gr/$ value.
To save weight. I plan on:
- switching to Ti bolt for the rotor bolt.
-lighter seatpost.
-lighter seat.
-lighter stem: Extralite
-ESI grip
-tubeless setup.
-Ashima rotors.

Effective tubeless (with REAL UST tires) wont save much if any weight...
just checked the specs on the website... that is a damn fine bicycle youve got there... and 21lbs is pretty remarkable for a full suspension 29er. good stuff.
but you plans sound good... ti bolts where ever you can... tune some parts...

I always wonder why bikes are weighed without pedals - with the same logic, you could weigh them without saddle or grips
Proper tubeless (non-UST) will save some weight (150g?), depending on how much sealant you use. The Specializeds do come with TL ready tires, right?
Pics of the whole bike please!

AFAIK there is no such thing as a UST 29er tire, only different variations of 'tubeless ready' - most of which will likely be more effective than using tubes.

Don't forget that weight will go up when you put some more grippy tires on it.
Yes, it that is without pedals.
I plan on using S-W Fast Track and Racing Ralph for wet and muddy.

Yes, Specialized have what they are called 2Bliss tires which means tubeless ready.
IMO, pretty amazing and lightweight tires for racing in the S-works grade.
If you need more durability, go with the Control grade (non S-works).

Thanks for the tip mdusink. I had no idea that you could replace the yokes!

yeah there are, but, as they are UST they arent light. Eg Maxxis Ardent.

what did you change? Im seeing mismatched wheels and rotors, maybe a new stem... and a HUGE spacer stack! (there's some weight right there...)
