Hello all - I am just looking for some advice / guidance..

I currently have my Marin Team Titanium 2010 at 8.5kg or 18.73lbs (that I am very happy with) However I have the WW bug now !! I appreciate I may have hit a brick wall with shaving any further weight on this fast machine but would welcome any further suggestions. Pictures attached but the build is as follows:

Marin Team TI frame
Stans ZTR MMX Podium wheels on DT Swiss 240 hubs
Shwable Racing Ralph 26" 2.1 running tubeless
Shimano XTR M985 Race Rear mech
Shimano XTR m985 Crank arms with a Wolf tooth 36t single ring set up
Shimano XTR M985 11 36 Cassette
Shimano XTR Race M985 Shifter
Xpedo M Force 8 TI
Rock Shox SID World cup xx fork
Thomson Masterpiece seat post
Selle Italia SLR Kit carbiono saddle
Hope Race X2 brakes with 160mm front and 140mm rear disc
FSA OS99 100mm stem
FSA K Force 600mm NANO K bars
ESI grips
Chris King headset

My ultimate goal would be to get to 8kg or 17.63lbs ..

In terms of upgrades I was thinking -

KCNC TI Cassette - 100 gram weight saving?
DT Swiss XRC 100 fork - 100/150 gram saving?
Lighter wheels??

Any other suggestions would be really appreciated please.. Thank you !

Get yourself a clavicula m3 single speed crank only 395g

Switch to extralite grips you safe heaps There...

Grap a schmolke seatpost... Change all your blots to ti. And start drilling holes in your xtr break leavers etc. :)

Definitely some weight to be saved in your wheels if you're willing to drop some serious money. Extralite HyperDisc MMX2 comes in sub 1095g, and you could go even lighter if you were willing to go with tubs.
Schwalbe Thunder Burt as a rear tire would shave some weight and you would keep the Rocket Ron up front for grip.
As has been stated, Schmolke seatpost, DT fork, Clavicula crank arms and a KCNC cassette are probably your biggest places to cut weight.
Look into a full carbon saddle. Plenty of them around in a similar shape as the SLR.
Extralite stem would save around ~50g, and a New Ultimate Evo bar would save a tiny amount, but also increase the ride quality because of it's width.

Other than those things, you'll have to resort to tuning parts (alu.&ti bolts, new pulleys, dremel tool, etc.). 500g is a lot of weight to save on an already light ti bike. If you really just have to have a bike that light, I'd look into a new frame.

Yeah, the XTR crank arms are 88bcd, you'll need a new chainring as well.
Extralite grips are 8g.
Depends on the size of your frame, but the Schmolke seatpost ranges from 80g-110g.

Extralite grips - 7.1g = 52.9g savnings.

Schmolke seatposts are from 83g - 102 uncut, depending on dimentions.

I would would contact r-2bike if no one in here are specialists of the crank specifications.

I'm willing to bet you could save your 500g by switching to one of the ebay carbon hardtail frames. I've been riding one (Pedal Force MT, 1,200g) for 7 years now without any trouble.
