He seems to think that, but the Garmin neo pro started ten minutes before him and had no problem beating him. And Fabs didn't complain. :noidea:

Watching Sagan in the same position as Cav, forearms on the top of the bars. Cav is quite wobbly, moving around on the road and kind of rocking in that position, yet Sagan is pretty smooth and stable. I've tried that position myself and I'm like Cav, not very stable. It can be hard to do pushing it. Or he could have just been buffeted by wind, dunno.

Cavendish often seems to 'wobble' a bit like that, even when holding the bars normally. IMO it doesn't ever seem to be a bike control issue, just a style thing along the lines of Chris Anker Sørensen, Froome, Voeckler, Ballan etc.

BMC perfectly executed a well made race strategy in the time trial. Phinney won in a time of 12:03, covering the 9.9km course at an average of 50.29 km/h. He revealed he set a personal power record, producing 490 watts for the 12 minutes.

Holy moly that's a lotta watts and a lotta speed.

2x TMR01 for the top 2 steps.

Maybe it's all in the head. Martin wanted to start early, they didn't let him, so that probably made him a bit nervy.

3 time world champ. He's earned the right to complain!

Looks like Bont have made him a pair to look like Sidi Wire

No need to quote above

They don't have the heel retention mechanism, so definitely not Wires but is he actually racing in that photo?

a) he's wearing the road world champ colours (against the rules, no?)
b) he doesn't actually look like he is trying.

It wouldn't suprise me if he was tooling around the course in his podium shoes (which would be made to look the same as his Wires).

Thank god he rotated down his bars compare to his road position.

the "wobble" is from too high of a seat height and overextending the leg forcefully. It won't kill power, but you can see his hips move up and down a ton.

Not a bad way to defend your lead from the time trial:

Also notice how cav is riding right on the nose of his saddle while martin is most definitely further back/more planted. This would go along with the idea that cav's saddle is a bit high since hes riding the nose to effectively shorten the height.

Granted it could be he just wanted to ride that way but its something to consider
