Alloy bow ties were purchased several years ago. Due to the circumstances, I purchased several sets to last me a lifetime. Somehow I knew that Speedplay was going to make this a real issue.

That website/business is long gone.

Good news for me - got my spindles today and they are very nicely made. Drops the weight down to 164g - add some ti bowties and i should be in the 145 range all for less than $200 and practically new pedals. Highly recommend going this route from cost. Will have too see how it all performs at the end of the day.
