I finally managed to find the time to drive down to the platers and pick up the frame. Luckily the result of the plating is everything I hoped it would be.

The copper plating revealed two things: 1. a dent in the top tube :( , 2. build quality second to none :D .

Mind blowing!
What are you building it up with.

Also be interested to know how much plating cost?

Not sure what I will be building this up with. Definitely black parts, but haven't decided on what exactly.

The plating cost considerably less compared to a quality paint job.

For those of you who are interested in the weight: the frame now weighs 1692g, the fork 677g and the stem 341g.

I'd like to see this in about 10 years when it has built up a bit of Verdigris, that will look great!

Picked up a lovely LOOK 486 donor bike yesterday. I had been looking for an all black Campy Record groupset without Skeleton brakes for some time, but finding one in good condition proved to be very difficult. The groupset on this bike looks near new. A shame the wheels don't have black rims, because they look absolutely amazing.

Totally disagree, those old silver Euros wheels look stellar on any bike, including that Look. What a find!
I am always left shaking my head as to where you unearth these gems.

This Fondriest is simply amazing. Maybe those Fairwheel custom gold Enves would look good on it too!

I like it more with yellow on it.
And the LOOK is amazing.

Slowly coming together. I had to sand the inside of the seat tube a bit to get the seatpost to slide in properly. I haven't been able to get the RD on, because there is too much copper on the threads, so I will need to get those cut. I am expecting something similar for the bottom bracket, although these threads were covered during the copper plating.

Black tires or maybe tan walls are a must...

Although the Eurus's don't look nearly as bad as I thought they would, I agree that a pair of black hoops will look much nicer.

Great job you have done on this bike... A pair of Lightweight wheels will do the job - with tan sidewall tubulars.

+1 on black rims. And black handlebars.
I would prefer a Campagnolo record carbon seatpost.
