You ride your nice bike on that much salt?? I can't imagine that, short of a comprehensive cleaning after each ride that the metal parts won't be ruined in a season. Am I right about that?

the last time was a mistake, I was so cold after the descent that I went straight home (despite dragging brakes to reduce wind chill). Ideally the cable car would be running and one could just ride it down (it's in repairs now). It looks like a proper winter is starting now, so here is to skiing.

Well, we had proper winter for a couple days at least

...off to Tenerife next week to start making the legs go in circles!

p.s. never thought about taking the cable car back down, good idea!

Are you allowed to bring a bike on the cable car? Does that depend on how crowded the cable car is? AS for me personally, if I ever make it there for riding, I would plan to do so during the warmer part of the year, and don't intend to do an Andy Hampsten racing down Gavia Pass in the snow thing .. or up the mountain in snow either, for that matter.

HT2, well the DH guys bring bikes for the up, can't see why they wouldn't do it for the down. As for Gavia retro flashbacks, I actually did exactly that a few weeks ago, in the dark for good measure....was laughing the whole way down, was just too ridiculous.

While you guys are having fun in warm locations, I am doing intervals...on this guy :cry::cry:

I haven't been out on the road yet in 2014...cold weather is my kryptonite.

At this point I'm missing those 95° days...

Back from yet another ride on flooded and filthy roads. Bored of the rain now.
