Hi, I am changing freehub from Campy to Sram on some nee and unused dt240 hubs. Only one spring on inside of ratchet. Manual and videos online says 2 springs. One on each side of ratchet. I seem to recall that other dt hubs I have had used only one spring. Any input?

I think the older version of the 240s hub (just called 240 I believe) had only one spring. I have one that I haven't had apart in years that I am 99% sure only has one spring in. I recall being surprised to see only one after servicing other (later) ones that I had that had the pair of springs in them.

Hubs are brand new. Wheels are FFWD F6R LTD.

Pete, you deffo should have two springs in there.
With only one spring the ratchet rotors won't sit central in the freehub/body gap.
Potentially it could lead to the freehub engaging when you're not expecting it, which obviously isn't good.

Thanks guys. Will get another spring. I swapped body once before but still have not ridden the wheels so probably lost it then. Easy to drop the stuff when the body comes off.

Yep, easily done. I've done it before with these.
Sometimes they just ping out, sometimes they are jammed in, sometimes they're upside down, sometimes completely missing......a bit of a nightmare and often missing or fitted wrongly even in wheels that have been professionally serviced!
Eventually I bought a few to put on the shelf as I couldn't risk losing one.
Used to be messing with them all the time when servicing Lightweights with the DT hub internals.
