Hey Tim,
That piece was removed when I shorten the steerer tube. I will be changing the seatpost to zero setback or replace the stem with 110mm in order to replicate my stock fit. KCNC Scandium Seat post 144g might removed another 4".

Beautiful bike!
So beautiful in fact you should get something other than a KCNC seat post. I know there are fans. But I have had 2 on 2 different bikes. One started to develop a crack. The other one kept slipping the saddle fore to aft, looked like a tolerance error on the yoke on the one that kept slipping...
What's wrong with the 3T seat post you chose originally?

Thanks, I had good experience with KCNC post I used to have them on my first R3. nothing wrong with the 3t, just need a zero offset post for proper fit. I will try this for now if it doesn't work I will go back with the 3T and get a shorter stem.

this doesn't make sense...so which is it, are you trying to dial in your setback over BB or are you trying to adjust your reach? These are two distinct contact points and you should dial-in, one independent of the other....e.g. using a longer/shorter stem to compensate for proper BB setback is a poor choice. EM3

Thanks, just around the block, I just finished it last week and with 12" snow on the ground just now, I don't think it will see the road for awhile. My first R was a 2008 R3 model coming from 2007 Time Edge First and felt right away the difference between the 2 Frame. I'm expecting a lot from this frame coming from my BMC SLr01 this time =)
