Contact BOA directly via their website and they will send you a free pair. No kidding! I got em. And they are modified with metal ratchets that have improve reliability.
For a long time, when riding the self-loosening Boas, I actually considered it a "feature", because my feet will ache on a long ride if I get my shoes too tight. So I would reach down and cinche them up tight when I say a hill approaching (where the jams always occur) and then they would have loosened up about 10 minutes later without me having to think about it. But that is just me.
But it is not "just you". They have a serious design flaw that is still being worked on to this day. Cheap Chinese junk. You get what you pay for ... but in the case of Specialized, you pay a premium and still get an inferior product which is pretty much the case of most, but not all the items in their line.
I bought the 74's with kangaroo hide. Always had BOA problems, even after replacement with their "updated" design. Never again. Going back to top of the line Sidi's.
