I have a Selle Italia SLR carbonio, and the silver graphics are a bit much from my black/black color scheme. Anyone know a safe way to remove the graphics without ruining the black dye of the saddle cover itself?
Thanks.

I used nail polish remover on my SLR saddle. I wouldnt say it completely removed the logos, but it was good enough (you could barely see them). Did not damage the saddle cover.

If you ride it, they will come off. And while you ride it, you won't see 'em. It's sort of a win-win situation.

"the black" is dyed throughout the thickness of the leather, the silver graphics are applied on top. it doesn't take a lot of acetone, but it does take a bit of effort. I've done it myself or i wouldn't have recommended it.

I would never use acetone on a leather saddle. Had a brand new 300 buck white Selle one time and a "mechanic" got indelible ink on it. It never really came out and took the sheen off of it when you looked at it from an angle.
They replaced it ... and then replaced the mechanic.

thanks - i thought something like that would happen. I have a different saddle and used goof off and that dulled a tiny spot. i had a feeling that acetone would do the same.

Conversely there seems to be an overt amount of advertising being done by companies on our behalf. If I pay for an expensive new saddle because I appreciate it's function I shouldn't also be required to advertise for the company.
