Will the 40T work with 11-34? Considering that the different between 34 and 40 is the same as 36 to 42
Hi,
It will only work with 11-36 as it's been designed that way. 11-34 cassette is different if i can say so from the perspective of dimensions of the last spider. So AB sprocket would not have place to sit against the 34T sprocket on cassette. So it will not work.
Matthiass,
Well it's a bit difficult to say.
In "regular use", providing you have optimized your chainline correctly it will last you as long as cassette. This is because 40T won't be used as much as let say 17/20T cassette sprocket.
Chainline optimization is a key for having one drivertian for long time. Please always remember that, as improper chainline will wear you chainring, chain and cassette.
To set up proper chainline to your preferences, make a note what gears on the back you use most and aim to have a chain "straight" on the sprocket you use most of the time. Everyone is different, so each of us should have different chainline according to ones riding style/preferences.
Some of you will use bottom of cassette most of the time, and some only last few bigger sprockets..
Remember also, if you change front ring to bigger/smaller you will start using different sprockets on the back straight away. so with such a change, you need to optimize your chainline again! this is very important and most people forget about it.

but would´t be good to design it to work with a 34? or to work with both. but it is maby not possible?
yes:) we will have them before the season starts (March hopefully)
KMC issue with our chainrings RESOLVED!
So this is a day we have been waiting for! Most of you know we did not recommend KMC chains due to too big chain rollers.
After speaking with KMC few months back about the issue, we got today few samples of new chains directly from HQ which are going to be put to the test by us and few bike mags.
What that means for you? It means in few months all KMC chains available on the market will be compatible with our chainrings:)
Happy Thursday everyone.
We really appreciate KMC help on that issue. This does not happen everyday where such a big company like KMC is willing to help smaller company like us and their fans to overcome the problem.
Soon we may offer KMC chains on our web as well:) any propositions what would you like to see first?

Couldn't find any information on 120mm BCD on your website or in this thread. Do you have any plans on making such a chainring? I don't know how many runs on 2x10 80/120mm BCD, but it sure would be great to run a 1x10 setup. No one really offers a chainring for this purpose.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Yes we will:)
Not for 120 but 80BCD - the granny position of that crank.
120BCD requires minimum 36T ring and these days no one use such ring as 1X solution almost.
So to give you smaller ring we need to go down to 80BCD. This is actually better for all as it provides improved chainline for 1X.
Only drawback is it will be available only in 28 and 30T. 32T in many frames may not fit due to collision with chainstay. Unfortunately these days most modern frames have press fit BB and there is not much one can do to move crank 2.5mm out to accommodate bigger ring.
We will provide 120bcd bashring to cover the tabs.

Tehan, my apologies if this has been covered but are the sram direct mount narrow wide chainrings available soon?
"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."
Sram narrow/wide spiderless is in production in few days!:)
Hollowgram will follow after that.
