In the mid-atlantic, there are a lot of technical climbs where suspension is beneficial. Manually unlocking an auto lockout for that defeats the purpose. And like other posters on BR said, what about the flat smooth sections where you want to stand up and hammer? And why use a 3d accelerometer when you're only concerned with inclination? for the free fall mode? I really like Magura, but this is a half-step band aid.
Specialized's Brain is everything this system aspires to be.

Round here, this makes a lot of sense - there aren't the flat sections where you wouldn't want the fork open, unless you're on the road (and even then...), and the climbs are steep enough that I don't see myself climbing fast enough to need the fork open.
Would be interesting to see how well/quickly the free-fall mode works.
I suspect the next step will be some form of inertial unlock using accelerometers rather than a Terralogic/Brain style mass - if the fork is locked, is there a reason this couldn't sit in the damper? With electronics, can the response time be made fast enough?

Don't know about the latest versions, but fox terralogic was great destroying fork internals... I prefer manual lock because of that. Also rock shox offers a great system for adjusting a little bit od suspension even when locked, for flat sections.
I like this thing from magura though, specially that the battery is integrated and not external like in fox. at least not until proper xtr di2 is released and battery power can be shared...

Including the latest (and now mysteriously discontinued) Terralogic II, brass mass and all?

I seem to recall K2 offering similar technology a few decades ago...
I'm pretty sure there is a RockShox rear shock floating around on euro-spec bikes that does the same thing. I'll try to find the article.

The RS system is clever; I thought the Fox one was just an electric version of their normal manual cable remote, though?
I want to have it
