Scott Addict R2, slowly getting lighter!
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hi!
I recently bought a 2008 Addict R2, the model with HMX carbon.
Really impressed by the frame compared to my old floppy Cannondale Caad7
It is 6700g as pictured. My goal is below 6kg with bottlecage and pedals.
Stuff to get:
Red crank, derailleurs, shifters
Planet X brakes
24mm LB tubulars
Lighter stubby
Keo Carbon blade pedals

So many choices - will you choose the original Red group, the 2012 update or turn it up to 11speed?!
Not that it matters, but I wonder if your brakes mis-matched front to rear? If yes, is it intentional?
I clearly recall the first couple of rides on my '09 Addict after upgrading from an original '05 Madone. The ride on my Addict felt like it's tires were pumped up to 600psi! I'm used to it now, but I remember thinking back then "oh, I guess that's what stiff means."
P.S. I think your valve stems are a hair short. Might not be enough for a pump to get ahold of... LOL.

They are both Dura-Ace brakes Just looks like its different, since you are looking at the brakes from two sides.
I guess its going to be the original Red! As i got a good price on that.
The valve stems was pretty much the only i could find! I use to remove them every ride, and for pictures before.. but it was to much of a hassle, loosing some air when removing!

My birthday tomorrow, i bought myself three presents!
New saddle, new stem and a new groupset. Sram Red 10sp, in black colour!
The groupset has not arrived yet.
Old stem, 90mm*7deg
New stem, 100mm*8deg
I don't have a torque wrench right now, so i haven't tested it yet.. Hope its not too flexy!
Savings of 20g and better fit.. Looks properly nice aswell!
New saddle. BBB BSD-65 saddle. I need a new stubby to make it fit, as the rails are taller than normal and don't fit in the ritchey clamp.

Are there any online retailers for that saddle that ship to the US?

I have no idea where you can buy this saddle unfortunatly!
I bought from deler.no, as i work in a bikeshop this was the lightest and cheapest alternative for me. It retails at 210usd at deler.no.
The real weight of the saddle is 149g, i have removed the plastic and bolts underneath as they only have a aesthetic function. This made a 8g weight reduction, and thus making the saddle lighter than my current SLR.

The stem looked nice If you want a really light back plate for your Red rear derailleur give me a sound. A bit to good for my commuting bike

Happy Birthday / Gratulerer
And I don't think you need a new stubby to make it fit ... just new wider clamps must work. They have the Selle Italia clamps that are 8 x 8.5mm and the Fizik are 7 x 9.6mm. Or do you
like to have a lighter stubby ??

Cerro: Thanks for the deal, rode 80 slow km today. Feels nice and comfy with a tad longer stem Its actually stiffer than my old UNO ASA105 stem!
Thanks PinaRene!
I want a new stubby anyways, weight saving from 20-70grams can be made.. I want a Tune version that save 50grams, with a clamping system i like better.
The ritchey clamp is not my favourite to adjust.
The old owner of the bike had the saddle pushed all the way back, so the stubby is polished silver on the sides. Makes the bike look worn!
