Bora Ultra 35 vs. AX Premium Road 24
Moderator: robbosmans
Hello guys,
I am looking at my next pair of tubulars for climbing mainly, to fit on my Parlee Z1.
I am hesitating between the above 2. I'm sure most would say to go with the AX, but I am curious to try Campy wheels. Any feedback on the above sets?
Cheers!

Very few people will have tested both, the Bora 35 being so new... my 2 cents:
I would go for the Boras, light, reportedly stiff, very recently conceived, well-engineered, and they look awesome. AX, probably fragile, not as stiff....hubs not as good as campy. Also, Campagnolo has been making great wheels (and more) for decades. AX has been making them for...a few years? I do think know-how and engineering experience matters, especially for frames and wheels (Campy, Colnago, De Rosa,....). There will be the odd exceptional start-up (Lightweights with wheels...can't think of that many) Besides, I have had hit and miss experiences with AX products, especially in terms of reliability, actually, more misses than hits .
In any case it's a nice purchasing dilemma to have, enjoy!
PS I considered these wheels but then went for the Mavic CCUs. slightly higher profile than the Boras....but awesome wheels! Torsionally and laterally very stiff (nice kick with accelerations and climbing) and about the same weight as the Bora 35...and with the MP3 program you can race them w/o too many worries...braking also pretty impressive in the dry, if slightly grubby...but yeah, they are ugly with that 12k weave!

Just to complicate things a bit, consider the upcoming offerings from Tune http://fairwheelbikes.com/c/forums/topi ... neak-peek/
The Skyliner tubulars have been ridden by Wiggins and Froome

The Skyliners do make things complicated indeed
Where can Tune products be found in Europe/UK?

Hyperon are clinchers only, no?
They do tubulars indeed. Just noticed.
Looks like the Hyperon come with a Campy hub only?
What's the final verdict on 11-speed campy cassette compatibility with DA9000 RD?
Thanks!

According to Lennard Zinn (and others in this forum) it works fine.
Hi all, I don't know if this is allowed here, but anyone knows who sells Corima wheels in the UK?
Thanks!
Thanks!
