Dude is the ultimate hipster cyclist. He's probably their demi-god because, like, he doesn't take it too seriously and does lots of "rad" stuff and doesn't conform to cycling's image.

My thoughts exactly. Too cool for helmets.

That bike is pretty rad though.

So, it pretty unusual to be riding in a country where a helmet is a legal requirement.

And anyway helmet debates, unless we are talking about how light they are, are for squares and old people.

You're saying he's not wearing a helmet because there are plenty of countries that do not have a helmet law and may not know it is illegal?
The guy is Australian ffs.

Don't get me wrong, I much prefer to have people make up their own mind re. riding with or without a helmet, rather than having the law mandate the use of a helmet. But that's not the point here; the guy is currently riding in Australia, he knows the rules (he is Australian) so he should wear a helmet.

He's not "riding" or "training" he's just, like, hanging out on the bike and if goes forward then like, whatever man.

Looks like Francois Pervis has *destroyed* the Kilo record in Mexico - 56.303.

Do your quotation marks question Pervis's performance?

I think those asterisks (not quotation marks) are for emphasis. Smashing the world record by ~2 seconds is a significant margin of victory. Very significant!
