Allez E5 - Final 6.76
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
With a lot of looking over the shoulder at HaroldC
Here is my 2014 ride.
Frame: Specialized Allez E5
Stem: No-name 100mm. - 133 gram.
Bar: Zipp Vukasprint V2 44cm. - 199 gram.
Bar tape: Cotton - 29 gram
Seatpost: Stock Specialized - Will be switch for a 3T dorico
Saddle: Arione - Will be switch for a Specialized Romin Evo Pro
Groupo: Shimano 105 with no decals 2.624
Wheels: Zipp 404 FC w. GP4000s 2.255
Pedals: Speedplay 203
All in all, i'm happy. It's a "budget" build and it should be no problem to shed another kilo by changing the group for something lighter.
It's a re-build from a stock bike and a kind of work in progress. For now, it's 8.005kg now and was 8.7 something.
Pic's of parts switched for now:

Those black Allez E5 look tremendous. You've done a great job complimenting that frame. Just need to change that group now...

It's seems like you could only lose about 400g by changing the groupset. What are you planning to drop a kilo?
Well. If i change to Red, thats 700gram. off. Even lighter if would chose SR.
Then saddle and seat post, and the i pretty close to 7kg. straight. So... It's not that hard

105 with Zipp 404's is awesome. Don't let 'em tell you otherwise.
Great build! Do you have a frame weight? And would it be possible to mount a fact bb30 crankset?
Very nice build! The weight is not that bad considering the group set. I haven't weighed mine again now that I have the 3T carbon seatpost.
I love the 404's with the bike....... now you need to remove the decals.

Are you making fun of me

No problem with the Fact as long as it's bb30

About the decals... I'm really not sure. I like the look of your wheels, but on the other hand. I'm a bit worried that they'll look like china wheels.
Not making fun, 105 is the most underappreciated groupset on this forum. Many a cat 3 race are won on 105 and Rival.

Yes, changing the group won't provide much difference....I would go with an S-Works crank and move on! Great looking ride!!!

That's why I left the 'Firecrest' and '303' stickers. A tiny splash of color that coordinates with the red accents on the group.
