Two Schwalbe One Ironman tubulars recently arrived.
One tire was 247g, other - 253g.
For comparison, Vittoria Corsa Evo CX's routinely were 245g each, Veloflex Carbons are 250g.

Quite supple, very grippy on dry and in wet, great cornering stability. A bit heavy for my likings but other than that it's excellent tire. Cannot comment on durability and puncture protection but the compound is rather soft and the tire picks up some crap from the road. I can only assume that some characteristics will be similar in clincher and tubeless
Are they easy to install, let's say compare to veloflex ? Or are they more conti type ?
Easy on Reynolds DV46. Black base tape makes it a bit harder to center (could be my eyes) but IMHO the tire looks way better in full black
dvincere wrote:How are the Schwalbe One's different from the also-new Ultremo ZX Tubeless?
There's a review of the latter comparing them to GP4000S' here http://cyclingtips.com.au/2013/11/schwa ... re-review/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I cannot say as I have not been on either tubeless. ONE is few grams heavier and supposedly has better puncture protection and rolling resistance. ONE tubeless definitely has the same softer and more sticky compound as the ONE tubular and I quite like it.
The reports from the users of Ultremo ZXs tubeless have been very positive with exception of riding/racing on them at higher pressures which seems to be causing some vibration (stiff side walls???). If ONE is somehow better than Ultremo ZX than for the tubeless fans this might be a nice choice provided pricing of both will be similar.
As to the 4000S comparo. I would not compare it to tubeless. Let's wait for the new 4000S II and see how it compares to ONE and few other decent clinchers out there. I hope they all will be very good but will perhaps one (not necessarily ONE ) be exceptional?
LionelB wrote:Given that it looks like the One tubular costs the same or more as a veloflex carbon I may not be trying it that soon
I generally think that the price is not the most important if the tubie is phenomenal but from what I am seeing the diff between ONE and Carbon is in the $20+ range per tubie (ONE being less expensive) - 20% is not insignificant. BTW, I absolutely enjoy Carbons.

Really? I buy my carbom between 55 and 59 euros. This is the price I have found as well for Ones.

I'm also interested in the 24mm version of the Schwalbe One tubular, but while I was waiting for them to be released and since the Veloflex Carbons have been unavailable for quite a while, I picked up a pair of Vittoria Corsa SR tubulars. I haven't had the chance to ride them yet, I'm saving them for next season, but they look fantastic and I think they weighed in at 264 grams each. Just throwing that our there as a viable option.

I had no idea the WW forum was hosted in the soup **** shop - no SPAM soup for you!!! There is a diff between the info on the subject and SPAM. Just my 2 cents.
Just started riding the One tubeless 23 the other day have 3 rides on them so far great tire fast rolling! Time will tell how durable they are but i have hit some stuff in the road including a snake with them and are doing just fine. Also set a new 5 sec power record on them could also be the new Fulcrum Zero's I have them mounted on. Still experimenting with tire pressure any advice for tubeless tire pressure.

Funny, you were a lot friendlier when we talked earlier. You are right, there is a difference between giving information and telling people your prices and extra. Also, please mind your words, the N-word you used is not that popular in Europe. It might be popular slang over in the states but over here things like that are still quite sensitive.
Thanks.
And on the tires: I'm still riding my 23mm clinchers and they feel just amazing.
If you want to see 'meh' content of me and my bike you can follow my life in pictures here!'Tape was made to wrap your GF's gifts, NOT hold a freakin tire on.'

Unfortunatley for me last Sunday's ride destroyed two nearly new 4 seasons tyres -4 punctures in total (4 big holes) and 4 th required breakdown assistance. Now gone back to Gatorskins - hardshell - they feel horrid. I would not dare ride my 4000s tyres or anything too racy I might not even get to the end of the road before bang. It's like that here in summer too. So for durability come to Suffolk and test on our flint strewn roads.
Interesting review. They are wrong in assuming that a tube adds rolling resistance, though... it doesn't if you use latex.
The tubeless tires *require* a lower pressure before they ride nice. I see that a lot. And there seems to be a common misconception that you can run the pressure as low as you want and not suffer a Crr penalty.

Any updates on this tire now that they have been out for some time? My Vittoria Open Corsa CX are going bald in the rear and are showing signs of sidewall cuts with the winter months, looking like it may be time for some new tires…
