My first CX race ever. Good fun, but my lower back muscles were just ruined from my first run in three years Thursday Hopefully I can only get better..
Lars Petter Nordhaug (Belkin) was superior and won. He even stopped for a coffee and a beer mid-way.

Picture from one of my last races of this 2013.
Wonderful location, just pity for the grey skies.

Is it you in the front or the rear? If the front, you need one hand on the top tube on that carry so the bike doesn't bounce around and you possibly lose the chain when it comes to remount. Otherwise, congrats on your first CX race! You'll be hooked soon

More UAE racing:
Team controlling the front
Making it difficult out of a dead turn - Didn't work but fun to try to get 5 of us away...
Got away with the UAE national champion with 30km to go - the gap never got larger than 40s but we held on to the end - he got me in the sprint

Thanks Me in the front. I was too tired to even consider carrying the bike. I was on the small ring and have a chain catcher, low chance of the chain coming off and I wasn't going all that fast..

CX Race at Sierra Point. I did the C's in the AM, and the B's at night under the lights.
Grid position counts for a lot. B Race I was front row, finished 8th of 55.
Race C I was somewhere in the back 1/3rd of the race, and finished oh a lap down.
Spotted Jmilliron in the B Race, I assume he had a mechanical, as he blasted past me and I was sure there were not a
lot of people behind me.
100 racers in the B race - That was a painful blast.

Man, that was a fun venue, hu? Second year for me doing that race.
And yeah, got a great start but then ate shit on the 2nd or 3rd lap. Rolled my ankle on that "U" turn set of double barriers. Sat there for a few minutes trying to figure out how much damage I'd done. Eventually realized I could ride fine. Had to take the barriers and steps real gingerly though.
Kinda fun working my way back up from nearly last.
