I just wanted to introduce myself and my Time VXRS Ulteam to the WW community. My first serious road bike was a Time Edge First that I built up in mid 2010. When looking for a new bike, I decided that I wanted to stick with Time, so I found this lightly used VXRS Ulteam on eBay and built it up about a year ago (which means I have zero excuses for why my steerer is not properly cut). There is nothing at all WW about this bike, and it pales in comparison to some of the awesome bikes that are being built up by members of this community, but I love the ride and it is in no way holding me back. So it’s a keeper…for now.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm really going to try and cut the steerer this weekend.

Now that is a great looking bike. Very stylishly done.

How do you like the Xpresso pedals?

Overall, I like them better than my Speedplay Light Actions, but I want to see how they hold up over the long haul. I did get two nice scrapes on my right calf (that left 2cm scars) in the first couple of weeks from the sharp outer edge. I read about those complaints prior to getting the pedals and I said to myself that I'd have no problem avoiding getting cut. Nope. It hasn't happened in quite a while though. I did notice last week that on one pedal, the carbon spring had shifted slightly up onto the raised triangular plastic portion (see picture for location; not actually my pedal) and as a result, the carbon layers were separating slightly at that corner. But clipping out is very easy and clipping in is easy as well. The pedal almost seems to suck the cleat in, as there is nearly no force required to engage. I have found that the more I trust that the pedal will be in the proper position when pulling away from a stop, the easier they are to clip into. If I start to look at the orientation of the pedal or assume that it's upside down, that's when clipping in goes less smoothly.
