very cool bikes, i really like the classic look of them. don't you have any problems with rust because in cx there are a lot of possibilities to scrath the frame, and with high pressure cleaning during the race water gets nearly everywhere?
do you have a real weight of the alpha q fork uncut?

Yeah, I really like the way steel bikes look and ride. You might have seen these frames last year under Jon Page (with Cervelo decals). As for rust, I treated the new frames with a rust stopper (by JP Weigle- don't know if this is found in Europe) before they were built up. There are vent holes in the seat stays and the bottom bracket shell is very open which allows me to get the frame saver in, and to let water out. I also re treat them twice a year, before and after the season.
Honestly in the US we only have pressure washers at a few races, most washing is done by hand which helps save bearings and such. That and our courses are not nearly as heavy in mud- especially in the east.

I don't- I only have a little postage scale, so I only really find out lighter vs heavier, not exact numbers. Maybe I'll see if the shop has a fork I can weigh when I go over to weigh the bikes.

My wife was 10th in the Masters 35-49 age group. A good result but we had hoped for a little more after last years 2nd place. But the race was shortened due to the weather problems the day before (check out the photos on cyclingnews.com- snow AND thunder!!) and Meg goes better as the race goes on, so an extra lap or two would have helped a lot. Oh well- it was a good year overall, and we are already planning for next season!

Simon, my uncut Alpha Q CX fork was 550g with crown race.

Where did you get those FSA chainrings? Looks like the Super road chainrings in compact but I can't find them on the FSA website in 46T! Can you take a closer picture of the chainrings for me? thanks!

...though I don't adhere absolutely to the WW theme (cross is demanding on the equipment), I did go with carbon bars cause I like the bend. The frame is a Team frame made of oversized Easton Scandium (Easton was one of our sponsors - Thanks Easton!!!), and made by my brother. The wheels are prototype ROL wheels (another local company) built with carbon rims, CXRay spokes and White Industries hubs. If you want more details, just ask!

Hello,

I present your my new cross bike.
Light of course 7,440 Kg but I want to keep reliability and efficiency.
The X-Night is a very stiff but very confy frame.
I choose this paint scheme cause I already have a Ridley Supercross in the same color.

Great looking bike, Mads. I still would use a brighter handlebar tape. White would be the best :wink:

do you have any problems with your brakes in combination with the fork?

To Müsing: Something when braking really hard on the front brake it seems to "shake" a little bit! Don't know if it's the brake pads or where it comes from - have you tried the same?

To Boogie: It actually seems fine where I have ridden my bike until now - mainly in the woods where I also would ride my mtb! What is your gearing front and rear?
