if you are going to use a 10 speed cassette, you are.

I now have 400 miles on the new DA9000. sure like it better than the Red that I had, Red was not bad, I just like the 9000 better.
Let's finish the ride with a 20% grade.

In what way? "Better" is not very descriptive.

Like it "Better". Crisper shifts, feels precise, the toss on the shifters is the same on every shift, easier to make the shifts (compared to my 7900), shorter throw to make the big ring small ring shifts, smaller hoods for my small hands. taller shifter knobs, better hand holds on the larger knobs more secure alternate position. I like the shim on the shifters better than the 7900 for small hands.

On the Sram red, shifts were loud, however positive. Small ring to large ring too effort all the time, had to mix and match some Shimano parts to achieve the quiet and best possible shifting solution. Double tap, really like it however like the DA "better" better can just be a personal thing in this case.

I ride an 11-28 the jump on the 10 speed the jump to the 28 is 24-28 limits the range on some hills for me. On the 11 speed the final range is 25-28, on some of the steeper hills I really prefer the climb with the 25 and recover with the 28 instead of grinding the 28 the whole time. I am sure some will say get stronger and push the 24 up the hills, on some of the rides, I like to finish strong also. Is the 11 speed better, not better, however I have a better range for my riding area and style. the 9000 brakes stop, brakes they say are a upgrade maybe, the 7900 brakes and Sram red brakes worked just fine

Better :)
